This Old House Remodeling, Back Bath

My remodeling project is coming along, however slowly!! Here is the original back bathroom with the "lovely" pink and blue wallpaper and tile and floor with evidence of the drain problem!

Here is what the floor looked like after removing the linoleum,(see where it had been patched once before) then boards we had to remove--and then the new tile in the process!

Here's some wallpaper removal:

Then, I had to get the drain problem fixed, and, guess what? It was not just under the sink, but running over to where the drain met the commode drain, so tile had to be removed of course! And, of course, there is no tile to match, so we got another blue and my daughter,Robin, is the family tile guru! Here is her tilework:

Although these pictures a little dark, I think you can see the new sink and commode--I'll work on better pictures and let you see

My table painting project....

Here is what it looked like BEFORE:
Well, actually I forgot to take a picture before I had painted a the top, but you get the idea!

Just used a spray paint from Wal-mart!
And finished table, with "almost finished" display! More later!!

Can you see the little frog in my Drake Lantern? he was trying to be invisible!

Another at my house

And another, got to get some color up there soon!

OH, YES! Fall is THE time to do a Willow House party! Who wants to be next??? Get your wish list filled free while your friends get to take advantage of our sales and specials!!

This is at my booth, but I usually have it hanging on an inside door at my house with seasonal "permanent" flowers!

This new lantern is SO versatile!! Another booth pic...Wouldn't you like another PAYDAY every month?

I have garden statues for each of my 8 grandchildren, no, the snail is not one of them!

Yes, real leaves, looking for more..just a little clear shelf paper!

Wooo, Pig! Sooie!

Our Razorbacks didn't quite make it against Alabama, but we cheered them on in style anyway!

I had this Razorback fabric for sometime and finally got it made into a tablecloth, so with my Willow House Galveston Memo Board shouting Wooo Pig Soooie! and my Alumni "No. 1 hand" and my Hog Trough for chips and crackers we enjoyed a little pork baked with apples, salmon mold, chili and rice stuffed peppers, fried apple and peach pies and some peanutty brownies and watched the game with family. Weather was perfect for grandkids to play outside and we had all 8 of them here! Except for the loss to Alabama, it was a good day!

Happy Halloween All!

Remodel update Back Bath

This is the back bathroom in the old house I am remodeling and you can see from the colors I probably should have just said "this is a retro bath" and left it alone! I'm sorry, I could not take the blue and pink, and, of course, the floor had to go!

Well the area where you see the square in the floor had been replaced once before and we discovered the reason it kept rotting out was a leak between the sink drain and commode! No way to get into the backside, so tile had to be removed under the sink to get to the leak>

So leak repaired and floor tiled!

Just wait till you hear the rest of the story in this continuing saga!

Summer Perennials

Hot summer time makes me appreciate putting in perennials in years gone by! Especially since we had such a late and wet spring that I didn't get many annuals out this year. I call this purple bush Russian Sage, but am open to names if you think it's something different! All these are blooming in my yard right now!

My roses are kind of sad this year, but I've always loved the color of this one.....

These are my garden statuettes of my 8 grand-children, peeking out of the 4-o-clocks.

Larkspur, maybe?

Daylillies seem to thrive in hot weather

And, of course, sunflowers are one of my favorites! These all came back from ones I had in my garden last year. Actually they are just about all I have in my vegetable garden this year!

Judy Nolen, these are for you! (Judy gave me a start of these last year and I love them! They had surprising flowers in the spring!)

"Daisy, Daisy, tell me your answer, true" The are just beginning to bloom.

Another day lilly, Beautiful colors, wish they would bloom in the fall!

Echinacea also do well in hot and dry. Through the years, hot and dry tolerant plants have made me happy!

The mint flowers are making the butterflies and bees happy!

These beauties come back in my pots by the door every year, anyone know their name? The blooms just last a day or two, but the plant just keeps getting taller and blooming all summer.
